PROJECT OVERVIEW

Slow Apparel is an eco-friendly, affordable streetwear brand dedicated to putting an end to fast fashion.

I knew I wanted to create an organic shape to incorporate into the “O” of the logo—something subtle but noticeable once you take a closer look. Not only that but “O” also represents “organic.” And since Slow Apparel is all about organic and eco-friendly materials it made sense to incorporate a fluid shape that meshes with the logo and overall branding.

Additionally I thought about the clothing itself and how to represent it in the logo. I thought about hoodies, sweatpants and jackets and how they each have the string fabric to make the garments tighter. Usually those strings are more straight, but for this design I wanted to amp up the style of the straight line and make it more a wave as a visual twist. To support this I illustrated several pieces of clothing that include the wave so all of the design elements tie together nicely.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

This project naturally started with the process of discovery and research of eco-friendly and streetwear brands. Most eco-friendly brands don’t sell streetwear inspired clothing, giving the Slow Apparel brand an edge in the market. To expand on this I choose a vibrant, attention grabbing color palette not normally seen within the eco-friendly apparel landscape, paired with a bold logo and fun typeface.

I executed and designed a new creative direction for Slow Apparel that’s both cohesive and unique to younger demographics.
